Our Approach
Vets For Animals (VFA) is a Non Governmental Organization for Animal Welfare, run by a group of qualified and dedicated veterinarians who came together under the common cause of providing quality veterinary services to animals. Dr. Shridhar Budhe and Dr. Shashikant Jadhav founded the organization in 2007. VFA concentrates on:
- Animal Birth Control programmes across India
- Training of veterinary doctors in ABC methodology,
- Animal Welfare Activities like rescue and rehabilitation of distressed animals,
- Provision of technical support to other animal welfare organizations and NGOs.

Meet the Team
Dr.Shridhar Budhe
President
Dr Shridhar D. Budhe completed his post graduation in Veterinary Medicine in 2004 from Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur. Right from his college days, he was deeply interested in helping animals and to further his knowledge, he attended many animal health camps and vaccination camps. After his post graduation,he joined a well known animal welfare organization. While working there, he was motivated to start an NGO with other vets for providing better veterinary services in animal welfare. With the help of Dr. Shashikant Jadhav and others,he founded Vets For Animals in 2007. He has sterilized more than 20,000 dogs till date. He also coordinates many animal welfare projects.
He was a Chief Coordinator for Nagpur under Mission Rabies in Sept ember 2013. He also enjoys training other veterinary doctors in Animal Birth Control methodology.
He is the co author of the book“Dairy Farming Management”, supported by VFA.
Dr. Shashikant Jadhav
Secretary
Dr Shashikant Shivaji Jadhav completed his graduation in 2003 and post-graduation in 2006 from Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur. Dr. Shashi has extensive experience in Animal Birth Control (ABC) work and has performed more than 30,000 spay and neuter surgeries of street dogs. He is an expert in surgery and medical treatment of wild birds.He works with the rescue and rehabilitation operations of wild birds in Ahmedabad during “Uttarayan”. He has also worked as a Senior Veterinary Co- ordinator of North India for Mission Rabies and as the leading Vet of Goa Animal Birth Control project under Mission Rabies.
Dr Shashi is the Secretary of Vets For Animals and ABC India.
In his free time, Dr.Shashi is an avid Basketball player.During his college days, he has participated in inter-university sports meets. He is also a holder of the N.C.C. ‘C’ certificate with A grade
